Photo Fun!!!

I'm always amazed how the fun side of most people shows up when someone pulls out a camera.  Even a shy person will jump in, especially when there are props involved.  An example of this was the photo area at CTMH's convention this past July.  The photo booth section was full of CTMH sisters all day long taking camera shots with all the fun props that were supplied.

That inspired me to make my own props for two fun events coming up this weekend.  My niece's 15th birthday and an all day local crop that I will be vending.  I can't wait to show up with all these fun goodies and see how much fun everyone will have.

I used the Cricut Art Philosophy, Cricut Artiste and free CCR images, to create these wonderful items.
The callouts are covered with our new chalk paper (amazing and so much fun)
I filled a vase with old fashion bubble gum, because I have seen some fun pictures with people blowing bubbles.
The wooden craft sticks come in a bag of 12 for a few dollars at your local craft store.

Whooooo loves you???

Inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest from a cute little shop on Etsy (alohababies).  I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and Cricut Craft Room to create these cute little owl candy toppers.  They are so easy to make and a great way to share some love!

Supplies Needed to make six: (you can use any color scheme to fit your party)

1 sheet of black CTMH card stock
1 sheet of smokey plum CTMH card stock
1 sheet of buttercup CTMH card stock
1 sheet of autumn terra-cotta cardstock
White chalk marker

3 bags of colorful M & Ms to match (I used green, orange, purple).  I purchased these from Party City, they sell them in individual colors.  You can also order online from M & M store.

Cellophane bags (I like the rounded ones it makes the body more full and owl like, but any kind will work)

Rounded cellophane bags can be found
at Michaels or AC Moore.

Directions:

I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge and Cricut Craft Room from CTMH to make this process quick and easy.  For instructions on how to use the CCR file, click here!

The black portion is cut from AP Cartridge <rectangle8> and <oval3>  (I can email file by request)
I used CCR to overlay the oval on the rectangle shape in the center of the rectangle to create the opening for the bag and curve for the owl head.
The size of the rectangle is about 5 1/2 X 3 1/2 and oval is about an inch wide and stretched to just about enough of the rectangle to allow the ear to fold and still be attached.

The green circles are cut at 1 1/4 inch
The yellow and purple circles are cut at 1 inch (purple are cut in half)
The black circles are cut at 3/4 inch, make a little mark with chalk marker to give it that extra touch
The orange triangle is cut from a one inch strip and then just cut at an angle to cut the triangles

Once I it cut out, I folded the rectangle in half, leaving the oval shape out
I used CTMH bonding glue to adhere all the parts on the head
I filled the bags with candy of choice/color in cellophane of choice, seal the bag with a twisty
Adhere the sides of the owl head closed

Enjoy!

Halloween Party Kit from CTMH

This kit works with the new Cricut Artiste Cartridge from CTMH.  Very cute papers and ideas!  Even for those who don't celebrate the goblins, you can still have a wonderful kit full of fall goodies!  Click here to order your kit today!

Mojo Monday 260

Although it is just a few days into fall, I couldn't help but jump ahead into some of the winter colors for this Mojo Monday challenge.  I love the cool colors of blue greens in this CTMH Winterland paper pack.  The touch of purple in the plaid make it a little whimsical.  Of course the CTMH designer rhinestone brad lined by a crochet flower, just seemed as delicate and beautiful as a snowflake.

Pumpkin and Princess Day

What a way to celebrate the first day of fall, but with pumpkin and princesses.  The day was spent with my girlie cousins who pink, love tea pots, flowers, cupcakes, doll houses, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibilities, and Downton Abby!  But most of all we love princesses!  So to honor the first day of fall, we got together to celebrate a special dear cousin and to put our own spin on carving pumpkins.  We made Cinderella Pumpkins!  I was inspired from a picture I saw on Pinterest (Let's Go Fly a Kite Blog) and put our own fairy Godmother "magic" to the project.

Our menu of the day was a fall harvest salad, pumpkin scones, pecan pumpkin butter, butternut squash soup, pumpkin ravioli with butter sage sauce.  For some, this was the first time trying these fall delights.  It was a wonderful afternoon/evening.

My cousins' C and S princess pumpkin!

My cousin's M pumpkin!  Thanks to her prince, N, for helping!

My project is an Owl Boo Banner!

Owls seem to be the craze this Halloween/Fall and my family room is decorated to the "whooot" with them.  So making the owl banner to hang over my mantle seemed the perfect thing to create for this Blog Hop.  The owl and lettering can be found in the Cricut Artiste book on pages 76 and 77.  The actual banner flags can be found in the Art Philosophy Book on page 39.  The owls are cut out of felt!  I used brown and orange stiff felt from the local fabric store. I love using my Cricut to cut felt (see my tutorial how to do this effortlessly).  The paper is from the new CTMH Moonlight paper pack.  I also used smokey plum, gold rush, pear, topiary, and creme brûlée card stock.  I used CTMH's amazing burlap for the bows embellished with CTMH green buttons. To hang the banner, I used multiple strands of hemp tied together. To finish it off, I liquid glassed googly eyes to all the owl eyes on the Beautiful Moonlight B&T paper.

I'm the last stop on the trail... Here is the link again to the beginning at Lucy's blog http://www.love2createitall.com  just in case you missed the beginning or just want to see all the great creations again!

Mojo Monday 259 Card II

So I really just wanted to play with some of my scraps and because I just really loved this sketch, here is another card for the Mojo Monday Challenge.  I used scraps I had left over from the Avonlea Card making kit and embellished with the CTMH silver ribbon tape (love this stuff!).

Mojo Monday 259 Card I

This sketch is so beautiful, I actually had to create two different cards.  The first card is with CTMH Flirty paper pack and burlap ribbon.  I colored the rhinestones with the new CTMH alcohol markers.  It just looks like fall....

Creating outside of Paper

With fall in the air, I've been spending a lot of time decorating the house and beginning to buckle down for the winter (did I really just say that????).  Lately it seems like a lot of my creations have been outside of the paper world.  Because I  equally enjoy working with silk flowers and sewing, fall and Christmas are some of my favorite seasons to decorate.  I just love the brilliant colors of autumn and the warmth it brings to the home decor.  Here is a little sneak peak at some of the projects I have completed.  I can just smell the pumpkin pie, butternut squash soup and other harvest goodies being made in the kitchen.
